The return of a traditional Midwest Favorite - a 3 day barbecue rib and music festival! 

The aroma of world champion barbecue ribs and the sounds of blues and country music will fill the air on August 16, 17 and 18 from 11am to 11pm.  The Aksarben Ribfest will feature four world class barbecue teams, each cooking up their own distinct styles and tastes.  From Memphis style dry rubbed ribs to heart-of-Texas brisket, the award winning rib cooking teams will also compete for Peoples Choice prizes for Best Ribs and Best Sauce.

Admission to the event is FREE at all times and FREE parking is available in the parking garage at Aksarben Village, just off of 64th Ave. as well as the Blue Cross Blue Shield parking garage, after 5pm.

Bands scheduled to play are the Blues Ed groups along with headliner Bluehouse on Thursday night.  Country night is Friday with headliner Tammy Hall and local favorites Collective Twang and the Chad Lee Band.

Saturday's all day line ups include Blues Ed groups, Lou Deluca, The Pounders, Little Joe and Big Trouble and headliner the Brad Cordle Band.

Thursday and Friday will feature lunch specials from vendors which include free soft drinks from Gold Peak iced Tea with the purchase of a rib platter and sides from the rib vendors.  Local craft beers will also be featured at three beer tents throughout the festival grounds.  Traditional side food vendors will also be on hand - kettle corn, fresh battered onion rings, roasted corn, funnel cakes and Hawaiian shaved ice.
